What is JDRF?
JDRF, the world’s leading nonprofit, non-governmental funder of diabetes research, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes—a disease which strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $1.6 billion to diabetes research worldwide. We are proud to say that over 80 percent of all expenditures directly impact research and research education. Your support helps us continue toward our mission to cure, treat & prevent type 1 diabetes through the support of research & research related education.
We are moving research from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside, translating scientific advances into longer, healthier lives for those with diabetes. With your help, we are moving closer to our goal…a cure for diabetes and its complications.”
